Terracom is among the seven promising, innovative Greek start-ups selected for the program of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) – Star Venture – financed by the TaiwanBusiness Special Technical Cooperation Fund – EBRD Technical Cooperation Fund through Small Business Impact Fund.

Businesses will receive consulting services for their evolution and development, so that they can benefit to achieve better results.

The businesses were presented at the opening event of the program held at the “Thea Incubator” Business Incubator, on Thursday, September 22, under the presence of the Deputy Minister of Development and Investments, Yiannis Tsakiris.

“What is really missing from the Greek ecosystem is the tool that can support start-ups that are not ready for their first or next funding but have great ideas. This program can bring these ideas into life so that businesses will secure funding. I am sure that there are already good results from the early implementation of the program, and we would expect even and better results. We are here to encourage the EBRD to search for possibilities of cooperation with the national institutions”, said G. Tsakiris in his speech.

The head of the EBRD in Greece and Cyprus, Andreea Moraru, said: “We are extremely happy to launch the start-up support program offering consulting and mentoring in Greece. The country has a very dynamic ecosystem with high-quality and promising companies, many accelerators, and a promising investment audience. However, we recognize that there are still challenges for startups such as the difficulty of accessing funding and growing their sales, and we are here to support them. This would not have been possible without the help of the Special TaiwanBusiness Technical Cooperation Fund – EBRD Technical Cooperation Fund”.

The representative of the Taipei Representative Office in Greece, Sherman Kuo mentioned: ” it is a milestone in the history of our cooperation with the EBRD. The Star Venture program is the first project of the TaiwanBusiness – EBRD Technical Cooperation Fund through which, in collaboration with the EBRD, it helps start-ups in Greece. The Fund has contributed €500,000 to the rapidly growing startup ecosystem in the country.”

Terracom considers that the participation in the Star Venture program with proven value in the past as well as the recognition and quality given to it by the participants, will be an important opportunity for its further development and networking at a global level.

Star Venture takes place within the framework of the EBRD’s “Advice for Small Businesses” program financed by the Hellenic Republic and the European Investment Bank.
